Samuel Heywood (Haywood)
« on: Sunday 26 August 12 17:41 BST (UK) »
Trying to find out what happened to Samuel after 1891 when he is a Police Constable living at the Police Station in Upper Poppleton with his wife of 3 years, Jane (nee Steadman).  She is visiting her father in 1901 but no mention of Samuel.  Also I can't seem to find either of them in 1911.  In 1901 Jane has with her a boy called Edward Dunning who is her sisters child, her sister having died in the USA.  Can't seem to find him after this 1901 census either.  Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi
The dates I have are Jane born in 1865 in Acaster Malbis, Yorks - that fits in with all her family.
Samuel born 1862 in Preston (from the census).
Believe their marriage was JAS 1888 in Newcastle upon Tyne - she was working away from home as a servant in 1881 but don't know how they met or married in NuT.
Edward Dunning was born 1894 in Ohio - his mother (Jane's sister) had emigrated and married in USA but she died in 1897.
Thanks for help.

no proof -just an observation - a lot of young men were missing from 1901 census as they were in the Boer war
