Cork Marriage
« on: Saturday 25 August 12 14:43 BST (UK) »
I have just managed to find some details of my great-grandparents marriage on Ancestry.
They are Edward Cocks (Should be Cox) and Ellen Northridge. They were married between Jan and March 1884 in Skibbereen, Cork.  Can anyone tell me if these are enough details to get a marriage certificate for them and how I would go about this? Thanks.

Sounds like details may be from the BMD Index ? there's also a copy of this on FamilySearch

The details you need to order a research cert from the GRO are as follows :

  Name
  Record type (e.g. marriage)
  Registration District
  Year/ Quarter
  Volume number
  Page Number

see : Ordering Certs from GRO Roscommon
Details included on a Marriage Cert

these are the references you need :

  Name: Edward Cocks
  Registration district:    Skibbereen
  Event type: Marriage
  Quarter and year Jan-Mar 1884
  Volume: 5 / Page: 523

a matching entry appears for an Ellen Northridge, so a possible cross-match

other details on FamilySearch or Ancestry (e.g. film number etc), are internal references, and not relevant to the GRO.
