There are two main types of cemeteries in Scotland other than churchyards - those run by the local Council's and those run by private companies. Depending upon where the burial was and how much information you already have most local councils will search their records for you. Some charge a fee for such a search which can be quite hefty. If however you have the lair details many will perform a look up of their records for free or at minimal cost.
