Hello

I am struggling with finding details for the Massey family. I believe Dorothys parents were John Massey and Ann Stinson does anybody have any information on their parents.

Any help much appreciated.

Hell Karen,

I think I replied to your message on Ancestry

The marriage given by Mike is the correct one, likewise the census details.

My wife has Massey and Stinson relatives in the Coleorton, Worthington and Breedon areas as does her step-mother. However, tracking Massey baptisms has proved difficult and similarly some of the Stinsons (sometimes Stenson).

There were two Ann Stinsons baptised in Coleorton, one in 1786 and one in 1798 but both are accounted for elsewhere. In 1861, Ann gave her birth place as Thringstone 1803 and I have been in touch with someone who posted a message about a Thomas Stinson, who was born in 1804, giving a list of some of the Stinson graves for which I have photographs. I have photographs of all of the Massey graves at Breedon. None tie in with John but all from Griffydam.

Some of the replies might be of interest.

I think chunkybick1 on Ancestry probably has as much information as anyone about this line.

Regards,
David
