I see in your list you have the surname "Close"....I am researching the Closes From Belfast...it appears that there are some buried in Mageraghall Church Yard, as well my grt grt grandfather James Watson Close was baptised in the church in 1845....just a note of interest I have Lyttle's buried in one of my Close graves in Dundonald.  I have loads of Close info.

Hi Wendy
My 2nd Great Grandmother was a Close.  Married to Henry MacFarlane (McFarland) on 03 Jan 1866 at Lisburn Reg Office.  These are all the details I have so far.  I have a photograph of a Close/May grave at Magheragall Parish Church, names are Thomas Richard May, Wilhelmina (Mina) May.  Erected by their son Kenneth May.  I am assuming that Wilhelmina is a Close.  I cannot recall seeing any Close graves at Magheragall Presbyterian.  There is the Methodist but I have not been there yet.  I do not know of any of our Lyttles' being buried in Dundonald.. . . .  yet!
Thanks
Maggie

There is a James Lyttle 61 yrs, buried 22 Feb 1972, and an Elizabeth Lyttle 71 yrs, buried 28 Aug 86 all in he grave of my Grandfather's uncle John Close and his wife  2nd wife Margaret (resided in 3 Harland Street, Belfast worked at Shipyard)..following is the obit from the Belfast Telegraph for James 1972, Belfast Telegraph Feb 19,, 1972...Feb 18 1972 at his home, 7b Espie way, Castlereagh, James, dearly beloved husband of Agnes Lyttle, Telegraph 21 Feb 1972, has he was late of 14 Wolfe Streetm husband to Agnes, father to Jim, grandfather to John and Colin, also father to Sadie, Gfather to Elizabeth, Lynn and Jim...Does anything Ring a Bell???

What a generous offer you have made!! thankyou.
I have one unusual name " HENDREN/HENDRON ".will appreciate any reference of then.   :)

There are a number of Hendron's still living in the Ballinderry area - I went to school with two different Hendron children who lived in Ballinderry but weren't immediately related! I could track down contact details for them if you aren't already in touch with them.

As for MaggieBlue - I have a feeling our family branches will cross at some stage - a lot of my family are from Derriaghy and indeed I am in the local Orange lodge there. A couple of similar surnames - Thompson, Morrow appear in my tree and had a long association with Derriaghy Church of Ireland.

Ballinderry wise - I seem to have substantial roots in Ballinderry and a long association with Ballinderry Moravian Church. I visited the PRO for the first time last week to try and find my great grandfather's baptism records for the Moravian church, unfortunately no success but countless other Hill's including I think a brother of his - investigating this possibility at the moment.

Loads of graveyards/churches for the original poster to visit - if you need any help don't hesitate to shout, I only live 5/10 mins away.

Regards,
Mark

Hi Folks

Wendy - Thanks for info.  My Great Grandmother was called Mary Jane MacFarlane, born 24/11/1872 Father Henry MacFarlane, Kilcorig, Magheragall and her Mother Margaret MacFarlane formerly Close.  I do not have my GGGrandmother/Fathers marriage Cert.  They married on the 3 Jan 1866.  The Lyttles from Belfast do not ring any bells at the moment but I have making headway with that branch at the moment, so you never know.

Mark - i have a copy of Castlerobin National School register in which there is an Ethel Morrow, date of entrance 15th August 1939, Father Lorry Driver, from Whitemountain.  Have copy of her results of examinations/days at school. Also a Mary Morrow and a Evelyn E Morrow.  Mean anything to you?  I recall my Mum talk of Thompsons, Watsons.

ajjbc - I found a Elizabeth Hendron XXXX, Presbyterian enrolled at this school also.  From Collin.  Father a Road Foreman.  Date of entrance 24th Sept 1935.  Have copy of her results of examinations/days at school.

Pat - What Larmours are you interested in connected to?

Looking forward to keeping in touch and sharing information.  Many thanks

Maggie :)

Hi MaggieBlue:
I haven't been on here in a while so excuse delay in answering. William John Larmour of Ballinderry married Mary Blaney of Broughshane in 1870's. I believe they lived in Ballinderry until moving to Warrenpoint at end of century.

Hi Maggieblue Wendl and fmni.
You all seem to have roots in Derriaghy. MY Roots are deep in that parish. My g'grandfather was James Watson and g'grandmother was Ellen, and she was supposed to be 101 when she died in 1952. I have also come across the name Hedley connected to the Watson name. My grandparents lived at Lagmore Reservoir, and I went  to Derriaghy school from 1943-1950. Maggie perhaps there is a connection somewhere.
Looking for help researching Watsons in Lagmore, Lambeg and Colin areas of Derriaghy.
Also Crowe, Close, Elwood. All in Derriaghy area

Hi flower123,

My grt grt grandmother was Susannah Hedley daughter of Robert and Margaret...Watson, is a second given used in my Close family starting in the 1840's, and carries through a couple of generations.  To date I'm not certain where it came from.

All the Best
