Looking on Google Earth for 25 Western St, in Murton, which  on my census for 1901 but cannot find it, has this particular house been knocked down? I noticed on the street sign it said western st north, is or was there also a Western st south?? Thank you anyone who can help.

There is only a Western Terrace in Murton not Western Street. This Google Street View shows No. 25 the house with the white door http://goo.gl/maps/5FJKZ
The 1911 enumerator's description has Western St North and South, but some addresses have Terrace.
Go to http://gis.durham.gov.uk/website/interMAP/viewer.htm and enter the coordinates 439645, 547110 in to search, this will centre the map on No.25.

Just to add that in the 1911 England Census Summary Books It is South Western Terrace and North Western Terrace.
