Sometimes the witnesses are family names, I'll have a look for you next time I go to WSRO if nobody else has beaten me to it.
Do you know if the marriages were after banns or by licence? If by licence there might be a marriage licence bond, these can be very revealing.
I presume you have traced both couples through the censuses and not found them living with an aged parent. But assuming they didn't die before the 1851 census you should have an approximate birth date, was neither man baptised? Or are there multiple candidates?
