Her hands seem those of an old lady, yet her face remained much younger !   I think she had arthritis in those hands ...

Its a lovely photo, and thre restorers have done it proud.

Hi Squizza,
Oh bless you I don't like to think I have caused you problems but I am pleased you got sorted out.
Thank you very much for the restored picture and all the time you have spent on it

Hi Lydart,
You are correct that all the restorers have done my photograph proud.  They really are very generous with their time and expertise. They always produce wonderful results. You maybe are correct about the arthritis
it seems to be a family problem.

Kind regards
Maggie    ;D ;D ;D

It's strange because first impressions are that he is older than he probably is with the white / light hair yet on close inspection he too has a young face . Anyway I have added some colour just  for fun.  :)

It certainly wasn't your fault Maggie that I haven't got a filing system that  works properly!

Hello,

Can anyone tell me when this photograph may have been taken. I believe it to be my G x1  Grandparents but am not sure. My Great Grandfather died in 1921 aged 73yrs.

I'm afraid it is not the original photo but just a copy.

If anyone would like to tidy the photo up they may do what they think suitable. I love to see the different effects the restorers get. All so good.

Kind regards
Maggie

I thought Maggie saying she would "love to see the different effects" and specifically saying that one could do what they think suitable, means exactly that. If anyone is offended by what I have done I will apologise.

Hello to you all,

First of all let me thank you all for your wonderful restorations and comments.

Im sorry if there was any confusion over the way I worded my post.  I like to give everyone a free rein to express what they think the picture needs....after all you are the experts and the results are always astounding.  I did indeed say "I would love to see all the different effects" but in future I will be more specific and state colouring is acceptable as is black and white and sepia.  If I have any ideas of my own.....ie hair colour and eyes I will state this.  I hope I haven't caused any misunderstandings.  :-\

Many thanks

Maggie
