Thank you all.  You are leading me closer to a conclusion.  I wondered if Kiltegan was perhaps more correct than Killagan.  It seems to be more geographically connected to Dublin and the Wicklow marriage is of high interest.  Interesting to find Rev. Robert Wright there as well.  I still hope to find the actual record and check for any children for this couple born before they left Ireland.  A clue to parentage would also be wonderful.  The Wicklow marriage is accessible to me on film at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City but right now I don't have the time to pay a visit to look at the record thus I'm drawing on other resources like you for help.  Thank you.

You can buy this marriage record immediately online from rootsireland.ie and this SHOULD give you the names of the fathers.
Cannot find any children born in Ireland to this couple.

Many pre-registration church registers only record date, bride and groom so fathers might not be mentioned.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

I actually did get a chance to look at the Film 101266, page 233,  for this marraige.  Most of the info aligns correctly.  Date 10 Nov 1845, place - Kiltegan, Wicklow, Robert White, Vicar - bingo.  Bride's age - OK, Groom's age - Not OK, should be 5-6 years older, listed as 1 year younger.  Unfortunately, fathers - Unknown.  Groom and bride residence a good lead to further research.  Too many things line up to get hung up on an age.  What are the chances that Robert Wright traveled and performed more than one marriage for a William Nesbitt to bride Eliza both on 10 Nov three years apart.  If anyone can see a good reason not to accept this as the marriage I'm looking for please let me know.  I should have looked to see if any other records on the same page had parents noted or did the recorder skip that info on all of them.

I am tracing my ancestry back through Pennsylvania to William Nesbitt (born circa 1817 in Ireland).  Can I contact or be contacted by "CarrollC" to obtain the Civil War Pension File for William Nesbitt? The US Civil War Pension Index shows an invalid application no. 2818 in 1862, and a widow application 63331 in 1864.

I am looking for the marriage record of William Nesbitt and Eliza ??.  The marriage date is 10 Nov 1842 (or 1845) per the Civil War Pension File for William Nesbitt.  Pension states they were married in Killagan by Rev. Robert Wright.  I'm looking for the maiden name of Eliza (Elizabeth) and possibly parents to extend the family.  Also any children born in Ireland.  They immigrated approx. 3 years after marriage but first known child is born in 1851, Pennsylvania, leading me to believe there may be some earlier ones who likely died as they are not mentioned in the Pension File.  Pension File uses 1842 multiple times but once as 1845.  Age of William in the pension places his birth about 1817 (Elizabeth about 1823 per census records) and states William born in Dublin.  I have found a record in the Family History Library, Utah, for William Nesbitt and Eliza Patterson in Kiltegan, Wicklow on 10 Nov 1845 but have not viewed the film.  The geography plays better with Dublin.  Matching the Reverend will be key to correct identification.  Any local help is appreciated.

Hi,

I am researching my family tree and wonder if William Nesbitt had a son in 1852 called Alexander Nesbitt died 7th April 1941 in Dublin. He was married to Elizabeth George.
