A place to start the search, if your O'Connor family stayed in Ireland, would be with the 1901 and 1911 census Irish returns. These would give places of birth, occupations, ages, possible relatives etc

Do you have Jeremiah's occupation, and the place of birth for Michael (i.e. street or townland) ?

see  : Introduction to Irish Records

p.s. Newbridge and Naas are two separate towns

you mentioned a date of birth for Michael - do you have a cert ?

It should show place of birth, and his father's occupation

p.s. the birth seems to be listed on the BMD Index without the O' prefix - i.e. as Michael Joseph Connor

It would be worth check on Ancestry.com for an army record.
Also it's possible they may not have been using the O of O'Connor at the time.

Newbridge and Naas are two seperate places about 10 miles apart. The birth registration Office is situated in Naas.
