Well if you have "John Wilson baptised11/09/1840 Lacky blacksmith" then you will be in Co Fermanagh even though Clones town is in Co Monaghan!

Lacky would be the address/townland he came from which is in Clones PARISH! The parish is in both counties.

He was a blacksmith!

You will be relying on church records so you will need their religion.
Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.

Church of Ireland I think ,would his father Thomas have been the blacksmith, I read the baptism and birth date would be the same?
Any help about where to go next would be great
Kind regards

Yes the father would have been a blacksmith. There can be years between birth and baptisms!

"John Wilson baptised 11/09/1840 Lacky blacksmith" looks like it should be "John Wilson baptised11/09/1840 son of Thomas Wilson of Lacky,  Blacksmith"

Familysearch http://www.rootschat.com/links/0q78/  would be a place to start or LDS film could be ordered.

No, early baptismal registers often just list date of baptism (and mother's are not always mentioned)
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
