Hi, I am looking for a contact for my GG/Grandfather. William Bennett..Born Essex , 1813...
Trialed for associating with poachers. trial date. 7Th April 1834.
 Sentenced to 7Years. Arrived in Sydney 1835.
 Married Harriet Mansen 26-5-1856, Sydney NSW Australia.Harriet was from Essex UK..
Five children were born,  William (my GGrandfather) Lavinia,Elizabeth, Maria, Mary, George.
 William Died,  Balmain NSW 16-8-1904.
When his father passed away in Essex a notice was placed in a Sydney Newspaper looking for William Bennett. William didn`t want anything to do with his Family in Essex.
No parents are on William`s death certificate.  So I am at a standstill.
Any help/Info greatly appreciated.

Do you have the 1856 marriage certificate?What detail is given in newspaper notice?His father may have left a will.

Found this on Anc*stry.........the only Wm Bennett that was transported 1834.

Cobbs is correct - the trial,  which agrees with date of 7/4/1834, took place at Rochester, Kent.

Hi, the only birth I can find for my GG Grandfather, William Bennett in Essex is.
Born 13-12-1814  ( I Have 1814 ) Baptised 16-7-1815. Independent, Newport Essex England.
Parents John & Sarah Bennett.

On Williams death certificate, no parents named. I have not found the newspaper article in Sydney.
 It was known in the family it was placed as he was left an inheritance which he did not want.
I will have to dig and find more on John & Sarah. John`s,  Will would be good?

I have all INFO of Williams wife  Harriet  nee Manser from Essex & 7children.
William Alfred my Great grandfather.
