I'm looking for the baptism of Patrick DEER 1820-1823 Co. Tipperary.

Can anyone possibly assist with a lookup of the record?

Thankyou

You usually need a bit more detail to start a search for an early parish record - i.e. the denomination of this Deer family and where in Co. Tipperary (the town, townland or parish) they lived. Not all parishes have records back to the 1820s so the more detail you have the better...

Do you have the name of Patrick's father ?
You didn't mention where Patrick ended up... marriage and certs from many countries include very useful clues such as names of parents etc, which could help confirm or rule out any Tipperary records you locate.

There are two baptisms listed on IFHF which I cannot access 1820 & 1823 that I would like to investigate.

He was RC according to all his records until his death in Australia & none of them record his parents names.

He was married before 8 August 1841 to Margaret (Peggy) RYAN as that's the date they left Ireland.

All their children were born in Australia.

Thankyou

RootsIreland/IFHF is a subscription site - you have to pay to see the details.

Bear in mind though that not all Co. Tipperary parishes are included on RootsIreland, and not all parishes have records back to 1820, so there's no guarantee your Patrick is included in the records available.

maybe a search for that marriage would be a good place to start... if it can be located, it could narrow down which parish they lived in.

The fact that there's no sign of the marriage suggests that the your Deer/Ryan families could have lived in a parish where the records either dont go back far enough, or one that's not included on RootsIreland.

The problem is the early date and not having their location to narrow the search...

Yes, I know it's a subscription site but not everyone owns a credit card.

I guess for the moment they will continue to remain a mystery.

Thankyou
