Researching polish records on line is a nightmare unfortunately, I am attempting to do the same myself, but it seems the only way to get information is to travel to Poland in person, as hardly any information is available on line. I am also looking for 'Kupecki' family records, as this is my grandfathers surname (how I stumbled across this post). He came over the Britain around WW2, and beyond that hardly any information is known.
If you ever manage to find anything out I would love to know what and where from.
Thanks
Hiya Mr Moose .....and welcome to Rootschat ...my father in law - name Kabluckyj .....I have done quite extensive research about him and I found that
Poland - Ukraine ....if ( and I hope he wasn`t ) your Grandfather was born in "the strip " - it will be very difficult .......... evidently there is a 40 mile strip on the border of Poland and Ukraine which has changed hands several times ...so Polish - then Ukraine - then Poland - then Ukraine etc etc etc ...so
my Father in law born 1927 in Rogatyn,Ukraine which is Rohatyn ,Poland 13 years later ....so Town spellings change as well......
do you know what village / town , your grandfather was born in ??
and maybe you should start your own thread naming your grandfather ( not if he is still alive )
his date of birt etc and maybe we can find him
