Edward J Palmer has Will, Victoria, d. 8 Jul 1889.

Reading it, with separate addresses for Edward, and wife and beneficiary Ruth, it could be that they are not living together.

Statement by Ruth...... that furniture in house belongs to her.

Ruth R Palmer has a Will, Victoria, has five (un named) daughters, Emma Blanche is executor.

Hi there wivenhoe,

Just a thought  :D

Perhaps the address was different because it was in 1897 that the
Order on the Letters of Administration was granted to his wife.

He died in 1889, so she may have changed address by then.

I agree Raylen.

Ruth's will was mentioned previously.

I have just gone through and edited some of my posts.

I realised I have been giving the name of Ruth Rhonda Harrison/Palmer
when i fact it seems it should be RUTH RHODA

Sorry for that   :-[

There was a reply earlier that the house in Glenferrie/ Hawthorn was up for sale in abt 1894....so very likely that Ruth had moved.
Can anyone tell me if there is any sort of cemetries register. Ruth's father (Christopher Harrison was buried in Melbourne General Cemetery in 1864. He was hung, so I'm curious as to whether he's in a 'general' section with a grave that's been totally ignored or a denominational section and if he has a headstone - could someone point me in the right direction please. (I really am a novice!!  - and part time research makes it a bit disjointed!!

The house was for sale in 1894 following the death of the owner.

Melbourne General Cemetery does not have online burial records.  You will need to contact their office.  The staff are very helpful.  Please give them all the info on the death cert or attach it to your enquiry.

There is no headstone according to my resource.

Blimey
I have just been reading the posts re Christopher Harrison & Emma Claridge.  It appears that Emma came out to Australia just as her half brother did & I had no idea! Nor did I have any idea about the hanging of Christopher (I visited the Old Melbourne Goal last school holidays - if only I had known).

Also very interested to know Cando's relationship to the photo of Louisa who is her GGGrandmother - the name Louisa appears in my family as well.
