Thanks Gerry.
I'm now trying to track marriages for Edward James (1868) and Charles Henry (1872)
I've found death notices for Emma, Rose, and now Ernest. So still lots of research ahead!

The 1903 electoral roll listings are identical to the 1909....yes they are certainly difficult to read.

Thanks - I can't believe how helpful everyone is - it's wonderful  ;D

Cando - does this mean that the death that I have now for Edward James Palmer (1889) was actually Alfred Palmer....or the one on TROVE should be Edward James?....and that EJP committed suicide?
Looks like the tragedies that have beset this family historically have continued.

Thank you all for your incredible help!

Edward James PALMER committed suicide and it was reported incorrectly in the newspaper as Alfred James PALMER.  Edward James was known as James according to the Letters of Administration file on PROV.
