I thought that very thing today when I went looking through the Find A Grave site. I am going to volunteer to photograph headstones where I live. We all need an Angel.

Hi BGM,

I have corrected my reply#29 and now think I have the reason we can't find a marriage...

Stanel's first wife Ellen died in 1929 1937.

BGM's mum was born in 1934.

p.s. If Christopher MURRELL died as a result of a house fire there would have been an inquest which should be held at the Christchurch office of Archives New Zealand. Christchurch Archives are not operating at full efficiency but someone based there might be able to look for the Coroner's report.

Wasn't it 1938 when BGM's mum was born?

Cheers

Re my brother, Christopher Murrell, born about 1963 died before 1969. Buried in a church graveyard on the Avon River in Christchurch New Zealand. Died in a house fire.

There is a Christopher MURRELL buried at All Saints Burwood died 1965 aged 20 months.
Would that be your brother BGM. There is a headstone if it is him  This is across the road from the Avon River
