Stanel (sic) William Gale REES, labourer, died intestate at Palmerston North.

And I've finally found a possible birth. Irene RICKARD, born in the September quarter of 1917 at Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire, England. Only result I could find.

The 1987 death record discovered by Janette provided a date of birth of 14 January 1916, and if this relates to the right person the Irene RICKARD born 1917 may not be her.

And KHP, you said above that "Stanel and Margaret were living in Manawatu-Wanganui according to the Electoral Rolls."

Can you provide a date for this Electoral Roll entry? The Irene May REES who died in 1987 at Dunedin was a widow. She could have moved south after Stanel's death in 1955.

We need to find a record of her birth, and marriage to Stanel.

Hi Spades,

Mum was born in 1934 and Irene would not have moved to Dunedin as she was very obese and wouldn't leave the house. My memory wants me to say that the family never went to the South Island.

Irene and Stanel had 4 children altogether, Joy (deceased), Valerie (deceased) and two living children.

Can't see anything for an Irene May Rees ..... need another pair of eyes to verify.

There is an Irene Rees (no middle name) living in the area of Manawatu/Wanganui in 1981 living with a female with the initial R

Will point out she has classed herself as married.

They were living in Palmerston North in 1954. Then nothing for Irene and Stanel died in 1955. I rene died before Stanel.
