And the winner is Miss Mines
« on: Tuesday 07 August 12 08:21 BST (UK) »
Hi

I have found a snippet of information stating that the winner of the raffle of the Prince of Wales gold nugget  was a Miss Mines of O'Keeffe Street South Brisbane.

This would have occurred in either 1921 or 1922 and I am hoping that someone could assist with information regarding Miss Mines. What was her first name and did she marry.

Many thanks

Electoral Rolls

Annie MINES, hd
Walter Beavan MINES, rt'd accountant

I see three girls born to Walter and Annie in Brisbane, (Qld BMDs) so I would suppose that the winner is one of them  :)

Thanks Sue and Judith

So now have two possible winners of the gold nugget. Will have to search Trove again for anymore information about the winner.

Many thanks
