Well what a crazy night
the auckland star is proving amazing
tonight found about 10 more Thames nurses, one Thames trained Nurse who died in POW camp WWII
Part below from Auckland Star 6/10/1945
in between that so many family marriage, death notices, coroners reports.....etc
This was sure a popular paper and covered the news going on throughout the Thames Valley area
Phew..
Bye

Does anyone have any tips on how to improve the pictures found on papers past
just altering brightness and contrast doesn't work
anything else that can be done?

Bye

Hi Althea -

the images are comprised solely of black and white pixels, there's no in-between grey, so playing with contrast and brightness unfortunately won't do anything. We might be able to get better quality images off the microfilms, so if you let us know what images you're after I can look into this. Just send me a list of links to the PP versions and we'll work from that.
