Hi John - those are excellent suggestions, I'll admit bias, I have a soft spot in my heart for the 'bay. It sounds like there might be a bit of need for some preservation work on that material too. I'll bring this up at the meeting. Cheers!

Newspaper selection  ;D did I hear you say...Thames Advertiser  :'(

Seriously, is Auckland Weekly News on list of to dos, or are Auckland Libraries doing that
they have so many images in their heritage collection,,but would love more
I spent a few hours this week hunting for Thames and found over 400 names identifiable in photos
there were many great articles, but not always complete.
It seems an amazing resource and the pictures articles seem to cover a wide area of at least the north island

Bye
Althea  ;D

Hi Althea,

The Auckland Weekly News is on the to-do list, but there are a few microfilm issues to solve with that one. However, in more positive news, the Thames Advertiser is getting closer - we've committed to duplicating the microfilms that we have, which is a precursor to getting those films digitised.

Hi all,
just to let you know, the next bunch of papers will probably be a few months away yet, I'm not sure if we'll be able to sneak them in for Christmas, so most likely sometime in the new year. The major title in the release will be The Press, so it'll be worth the wait!
