Hi Althea -
you've actually already cracked it. Search "all words", and try a boolean phrase like:

"bruce thompson" +fire

That should do it. You can refine it further with other boolean arguments, like:

"bruce thompson" +fire -horse

...etc. Just be careful not to refine it too much, as you will get to a point where you have legitimate results ending up outside the scope of your search, a kind of search result collateral damage.

I hope this helps - although it seems you hardly needed any  ;)

No problem Althea - the only downside is that now we'll lose all those extra pageviews your extra searches were adding to our webstats! I'm sure we'll cope ;) Best of luck, and happy digging.

Hi all - quick update time.............[Edit]...............

Lastly, we've done a bit of work on the AtoJs. Aghadowey (forum mod) noticed that long pages were causing his computer to freeze, so we've now divided long reports into 50-page slices, so that they load reasonably, and can be navigated by clicking on "Next pages" and "Previous pages" links.

This means that information in the typically long Police Reports can now be searched - which is great because there's some juicy stuff in there!

http://atojs.natlib.govt.nz/cgi-bin/atojs?a=d&cl=search&d=AJHR1898-I.2.3.2.2&srpos=2&e=-------100--1---bySH---0-AJHR_1898_I_H-

Hello and thanks for that info. Along with this tip from my previous research,

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,567861.0.html

who knows what I'll be finding out next.

Hi Alan
Yes, thats the time
In 1900 they had the birds taken to Wellington..imagine how long that would have taken
bless them they flew home in 7hr 19min 50 sec for the winner!!! Wellington to Thames, not a bad effort!!!
Bye
