Hello again.

And here's me still cross checking the Auckland Star releases to see if I or the Auckland Library's old card indexes have missed any material, of significance, to our early Auckland pioneers. Got 66 hits for the first name I tried, and still got more names yet to go, when I can set aside the time.

What amazes me is the standard set by the text recognition programme you are using. While it sometimes miss translates, I've had a hit or two for printed copy that was so poorly inked, that I would have thought, you would have needed the human eye, to recognise the type/word.

Researchers, world wide, continue to hold up PapersPast as the bench mark to be comparing their local service by, and also add "and it's free".

Thanks PP.

Hi everyone - just a quick note to let you all know that we've just updated the http://atojs.natlib.govt.nz collection - the site now goes all the way up to 1930. Additionally, there's another Papers Past content release coming up very soon. Phew....it's been a very busy month for our team!

LOL, just when we think we are done..more good news  8)

I'm like a broken record with the Atoj's, telling people to check them
so much info, lots of surnames but so great for background on towns and events
Especially relevant for things to do with goldfields, land transfer etc
Lots of new info for Thames hospital..must go looking now....
 ;D

Hi all - good news, our first run of NZHerald (1863-1884) and the third installment of Auckland Star (taking it up to 1945) are now both live on the site. Enjoy!

Boy, it was hard to resist the urge to shout that one from the rooftops. Huge thanks to the good folk at Auckland Libraries and APN who collaborated with us on this.
