Connell - can't decipher place names!

Hi everyone

My Connell family consisted of parents William and Ellen (nee Cox). Married in Cork in 1857. Their children were Sarah Jane, William Frederick, Mary Helena, Albert James and John (not sure if he has any other names!)

I have a copy of some baptismal certificates for the parish of Barryroe (Lived in Lislee) for the children Sarah, Mary and Albert. The residence looks like Sig or Sing Castle and I'm hoping to have this identified please.

The other baptismal certificate for John takes place at a parish called Tractor or Tracton Abbey. The person who has written out these certificates has not made it easy to read. It looks like John was baptised according to the rites of the Catholic church on the 5th August 1868 in the church of The Sacred Heart Minone?? Bridge.

I look forward to hearing from someone in the know

The entry in the Tracton baptismal register for 5 Aug 1868 is for a John Connell who was the child of William Connell and Ellen Ceasy or Ceary (spelling variants of Casey or Carey).  Why do you think these would be the people you are looking for?  The Ceasy/Ceary is clearly not Cox.
Considering the distance of Lislee from Tracton (Minane Bridge) I would think it very unlikely that this entry could be made to fit in with the other entries you have found.

ftcorkmdb I was very interested when I read your post. The baptismal certificate I have is a copy given to me by a relative who visited Ireland a few times. The parish priest I think is the one who wrote it out so there has been a mistake perpetuated along the way!! I am glad I put this post up now.
