Thanking you all for replying.  As yet still no luck regarding an area for my McLaughlan and Haggerty I am still searching in Ireland.  The christian names of the McLaughlan member is Edward he married a Helen Haggerty in 1851.  :)

You should probably be looking for an Ellen Haggerty in Irish records (Helen is the form of the name more commonly used in Scotland).
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
