Ernest Henry Cooper 1901-1966

My grandfather Ernest Henry Cooper born 1901 and died 1966.  His parents Jesse Cooper and Ethel Frances Howard both died in about 1904.  I am told that Ethel Howard's parents brought him up.  I cannot find him on any census or on any documents until 1927 when he married my grandmother Annie Victoria Leach.

Any help/suggestions on where I should be looking would be greatly appreciated.

He was Henry Ernest - not Ernest Henry which may be why you cannot find him in 1911

As he was born after the 1901 census - you will only find him on the 1911 which is strictly pay per view

The free 1911 index has a Harry Cooper aged 9 born Norfolk living in Norfolk

and if a transcription is wrong are we allowed to correct it on here.says he was born Dereham on image but thats not what was transcribed.

If it is of interest Henry Ernest's parents Jesse Cooper and Ethel Howard were married on 21st  August 1900 in East Dereham. Jesse was a baker.

Thank you for all your help it is much appreciated.  I will start looking in the 1911 census index.  I had never though of looking under Harry.

I live in the USA so research here can be harder but I am getting there!!!
