Hello,

this is confusing.
William (11 years in 1881)  who lived in Vineyard Street has a father William who is a Painter in 1881 and later.

There is a William (6 yrs in 1881)  born White Notley with a father Charles William, Flour Carter. Charles W is a labourer in 1891 and young William is a Groom. :-\

Thanks to you both

Will have to do some more checking, Had thought William 6 years in 1881 with Father Charles William  was my man.

Then t mo 's military info fits with the William 11 years in 1881 with Father William

His Marriage 1900 states Army Pensioner as occupation
In which case perhaps there is another William in records b c 1875

Will sleep on it for now.

Thanks everyone.
