I'm searching for the birth of William CLARK(E) c1777, in either of the Wilbraham villages outside Fulbourn. Parent's names unknown.
William CLARK(E), my G G GF, married Mary HANCOCK at All Saints, Fulbourn, in 1800. His birth place and fathers name was not noted, apparently, according to the church register transcript on CD. viz:
1800 Sep 15 CLARK [BT CLARKE] William (x) bac otp
HANCOCK Mary (x) sp otp
wits: William jun HARVEY, Chas DAWSON
I have searched around for his birth details, without success, although he was 'otp'. I have noted, however, some Clark families in Lt or Gt Wilbraham.
William Clark died 1834 viz:
Jun 23 CLARK William otp 57 which probably puts his birth around c1777.
Would appreciate a lookup for this William CLARK(E) of Lt/Gt Wilbraham b. c 1775-1780. (Just one note for any kind soul doing this - there is a William Clarke baptism shown 9 May 1778 to a William and Mary Clark, but a burial on 25 May.) Maybe "my" William was born subsequently, and carries the same name?
Any help appreciated.
Many thanks.
Colin
