That is very kind of you, Isobelruss and very much appreciated.

What I have is....Eva Cecilia Robinson, born July 4th 1913, death reg Truro district, March 1998.

What I was hoping to find was an obituary report with surnames that I could fit to her 2 daughters. I've never managed to find a marriage for either girl (twins born 1941 in Chatham, Kent) as there are just too many Robinson girls with the same Christian names as theirs who married in the 1960's.

I have actually written to a couple of likely people after finding their names on the Electoral rolls - people who's marriages took place in Kent, but none of them have been the right Robinson and I'm not sure if the family still lived in Kent  when and if the girls did get married anyway!

It's a long shot, I know but I've been searching for this branch of the family for over 2 years now. I'd like to find them as I was lucky enough to trace 2 family photos, both in perfect condition and  both over 100 years old in a museum cum history society in Burton-on Trent where  the family originated, and their granddad  features on both photos , plus their great grandmother and 6 of their granddad's siblings on one of them and I'd love to let them have a copy of  those and the info I've found about the family.  I've passed the photos onto other branches of the family that i have managed to trace  and they have been as thrilled as I was when I first saw these photos.

Thanks to everyone on this one.  I ended up getting help from a local church- St Philleigh.

The lady vicar here was of great help to me.

I had managed to find an obituary notice of someone who was listed on the Electoral Roll of Truro up to 2009 as living with a lady with the same  name as one of the twins provided she hadn't married (I'd never found a marriage record for her so it was a possibility)

I wrote to the vicar of the church which  the deceased was reported as having been a church warden for and  asked if anyone knew where the lady was now living and if she  was a twin and  had an almost immediate reply saying that, yes, the lady was a twin, had been born in Kent and that her sister's name also matched who I was looking for, but sadly the lady had died  over 18 months ago.

I wrote back telling the vicar why I was wanting to contact the twins and she said that she had a contact address for the sister but had not been in touch since  her twin died so didn't know if she was still alive or not, but she said she had written to the twin sending her my details and that she would be interested to hear if  I got a reply.

That was about 5 days ago and I've not heard anything yet , so fingers crossed.

The West Briton based at Truro (also with regional issues for Camborne/Redruth, Falmouth and Helston) is your best bet as it is the most read newspaper in West Cornwall. The Cornishman is run by the same company but is more for the Penzance/St Ives and Scilly Isles.

The Packet series of papers are free papers more for classifieds etc.

Great result here for me !

The letter that the lady vicar sent to the remaining twin I was seeking came up trumps. The lady phoned me this afternoon and was as exited as I was at making contact again after our one and only meeting in 1960.

She's got a lot of first hand family knowledge and I've got the family history and we are going to have a whale of a time swapping it all.

Isn't it good when you get a breakthrough like this?  :)
