Truro newspapers
« on: Thursday 02 August 12 20:19 BST (UK) »
I'm wanting to put a letter into a Truro newspaper asking for some information on a branch of my family who I think may be living there.

I've tried one called The Packet but had no reply from the editor to the email I sent.

Can anyone recommend a local paper which they think might help with this?

Thanks Maryanne ,

I'll have a look at that one as well.

Our local newspaper often prints requests such as the one I want to make which was why I was surprised at not getting any sort of a reply from the first Truro paper that I contacted.

I didn't realise that about The Packet, Isobelruss. I just googled Truro newspapers and that was the first one which came up.

It's a 1998 death report that I'm wanting to ask about. I was given the lead to it on another thread on RootsChat  as I'm trying to trace a branch of my family who I last heard of in Kent in the 1950's, and someone on here thought that a death report from Truro in 1998 sounded likely - right age, right names , so I thought that there might be living relatives still there in Truro.

If you have a library card you can sometimes get access online with your card number.I got access to some newspapers I think the Cornishman and West Briton are among them

Thanks for that, Isobelruss - I haven't got a Library card but I do go to the Library regularly with my granddaughter so I'll ask next time I go in.
