Izzy,
The person mentioned is one and the same. Combination of old age, severe cold and brain out of gear.
Unfortunately the manifest doesn't indicate whether he is a passenger or crew but he is given as being single and just a few years later he's killed in WW1 - what a waste.
On the strength of it I would tend to favour him being a passenger. Reasoning behind that is that if he was crew he would have had seamanship skills that would have kept him in Merchant Navy during WW1 or into the Navy but he ended up in the Army. Stranger things have happened but.............
will see what my lot know about it.
Did you get that other stuff I sent and was it any good?

Hi again Ian
Sorry I took so long getting back to you,how many children did william and jessie have all together?
I have just found something strang,I was looking on 1901 census info for Clingans and there is no Charles Clingans at all in the whole of Lanarkshire there is one william who would be right age [61] living at Dennistoun.

Hi Isabel
Janet Turner sent me a link to your posting on Rossini. My father was Charles Rossini Lawson Maclachlan. He came to Australia with his parents, Walter Burgess Maclachlan and Margaret Stirton Rossini, arriving in October 1911. They lived in Brisbane, Queensland Australia mainly in suburbs such as Toowong, Rainworth, Bardon area. Margaret Stirton Rossini was the daughter of Charles Rossini and Caroline Stirton. Charles Rossini was the son of Antonio Rossini and Isabella Bishop.

I am steadily working through my ancestors and currently auditing each generation so that the information of dates of birth, marriage and death are recorded and where possible validated by certified copies of relevant certificates. I have trees on both Ancestry and MyHeritage and would be willing to send you an invitation to be a guest on the trees. The audit is being conducted on the Ancestry tree after which I will merge it with the MyHeritage tree.

the basic information I have is as follows:
Charles Rossini Lawson Maclachlan DOB 18 May 1907 Preston, England, Married Margaret Kant Russell 17 Apr 1933, Died 29 Nov 1974
Margaret Stirton Rossini DOB 24 Feb 1880 66 Edward Street Glasgow, Married Walter Burgess McLachlan 1 MaR 1906 Died 10 Sept 1956
Charles Rossini DOB 17 Jan 1857, Married Caroline  Stirton 5 Jun 1879, Died 6 Feb 1935 in Queensland
Antonio Rossini DOB about 1824 Glasgow, Died 18 Oct 1865 in Glasgow

If you would like copies of anything I have please let me know. Equally, if you have any information that may assist me to maintain an accurate tree please feel free to contact me.
