I've had a look at my Elliott photocopies and here is the gist.
"in 1676 William Elliot of Watergate and Cuthbert Elliot of Stackhill refused to render customary services and payments to Dame Mary Charlton"..............William Elliot of Watergate's son was Thomas Elliot and his grandfather was Thomas and his father John........1715 "Cuthbert Ellot of Stackhill and John Ellot of Brownsleazes both voted in respect of their freehold of Stackhill"
"in the register of the Hesleyside estate 25 April 1770....Christopher Elliott of Stackhill"
There is a long paragraph in the style of who beqat who at Stackhill thereafter at Wark, Moathill and Kirkfield. 1740-1780
I suspect there is an actual pedigree at Woodhorn, I'll have another look when I am next there.
