I think she was plain old Kathleen Mary crewe -and she "jazzed" her name up a bit for her marriage to Claude!!!

She died as Kathleen mary harris - d.o.b. given as 1 Oct 1905
Either informant made a mistake and thought she was 2 years younger - or on the death cert the birth has been mistranscribed it is easy to mistake 3 for 5

My grandfather has age 30 on his cert - he was 36 and was informed he was 36 - but age has been mistranscribed from register to certificate

Thank you for that she has been a headache. I know Claude came from a very wealthy family and maybe she thought her father sounded more fun as william charles. it is a little sad that they felt the need to lie but it makes the hunt more fun for us. I was really gutted when I thought I had the wrong family . So now I can include Charles and Fanny Crewe in my tree. xxx

I would think so - but check Charles' name-  sometimes people use their middle names as forenames -and she did have a brother William Charles Crewe
