Looking for information on my 3rd Great Granfather John Kipling born (8 Sep 1782  Burneston, Yorkshire, England ). Married Elizabeth Thompson ( 17 Jan 1785 Rufforth, Yorkshire, England) 21 Sep 1806 Burneston, Yorkshire, England.  Children:  Septimus 26 Jun 1817 Brough under Stainmore, Westmoreland / William 6 Nov 1819 Brought Under Stainmore Westmoreland / Thomas  2 Mar 1826 Middleton, Durham County / Elizabeth  22 Jun 1828 Egglestone, Durham / died Dec 1912 in Durham, Durham.  Thomas, my GG Grandfather and his brothers, imigrated to the US about 1853 where they ended up in Illinois as miners.

John Kipling was almost certainly not born at Burneston but in Barningham,also in North Yorkshire, although his father Francis moved to live in Brough whilst he was a child. He most probably did marry in Burneston but retured to live in Brough where for some years he was an Innkeeper. My origins are alos Barningham and I have been running a project to compare the DNA of various male Kiplings. A relative ofyoirs has participated and our DNA's match, adding weight to the above explanation.
