Why not download and instal a free virtual computer operating system?Either Virtual Box or VMWare Player are very good. The advantage is that once you have a virtual computer running on your machine you can use it to use any operating system you like (almost) I am using mine to run Windows 98; Windows XP Pro; 2 separate systems, Windows 8 Public Beta, 2 Linux systems and a copy of Google Android. The big advantage is that when you instal a machine you are installing the full version and not a compatability version. If your NBI disk won't run in a virtual version of the computer it ran on before, then it's the disk that is at fault.
