Dear Irene Thanks for thr email. This has opened another branch of the family that I Have little information on. I will follow this up and add it to the family tree. I have a photo of Walter Hoare the original settler if you would like it

Hi Peter, If you go to National Archives of Australia site, naa.gov.au, click on 'name search', then 'record search', then type in VX35707 - his army number (no need to put in name or date) you will be taken to Frank's service record, which is open and free to view. His next of kin was Vivian Maher, sister. I don't know who the parents were, but may get around to my library to check, unless someone does this before me.
