Help, DOD: Ann SNELL/COAD/BRENNAN
« on: Saturday 21 July 12 08:17 BST (UK) »
For years I have been trying to trace the death of my 2nd Great Grandmother Ann SNELL born 1815 Truro, CORNWALL.
The various Family Trees have her death as: 18th February 1902, but no "town" etc is listed.
Ann SNELL married Thomas COAD who died 1850 Truro, CORNWALL.
She married John BRENNAN 7/7/1856 at Truro; and they migrated to Australia 1857 on the "Plantagenet" (under the surname BRANNAN).
There is no record NSW BDM of her death as SNELL, COAD or BRENNAN.  Her daughters are buried at Narromine (Mary Jane BROGDEN) and (Eleanor BURGE).
Is there anywhere that I can search by date?
In New South Wales, AUSTRALIA:
Budge of Grenfell
Burge of Narromine
Bridget Celia POULTON
Samuel John Palmer
Elizabeth Spunner
Joseph Spunner Palmer
Mary Quin
Robert James Fitzroy Palmer
Daniel Budge of Orkney then NSW
Tanswells of Narromine
Daniel Burge

Need to check census in England?

According to the immigration record John BRENNAN's parents were John and Catherine, Ann's parents were William and Ann.

NSW BDM are free to search online
http://www.bdm.nsw.gov.au/cgi-bin/Index/IndexingOrder.cgi/search?event=births

You can search for Br?nn?n, ? being a wildcard, and you should pick up most mistranscriptions.

Just thought I'd post this - not that it helps find Annie or John.

Mary J BROGAN, d 1904, #13959, reg Narromine, has parents listed as Thomas and Ann, so this woman is a child of Ann's first marriage?

Hellena BURGE, d 1921, #19394, reg Narromine, has parents listed as Richard and Ann - as she appears to have married under the name of COAD, I assume she is also a child of the first marriage.

Edit to add:
You have probably seen the austcemindex photo of the grave of Helenor BURGE at Narromine, doesn't seem to be a photo for Mary though.  Noting your interest in surname TANSWELL, there are also some photos of graves with that surname at Narromine.

There is a death recorded sydney 1888 for a John P Brennan ref # 392/1888  parents listed as John T and Catherine.

But more importantly have you checked for them in S Australia. An awful lot of Cornish Miners went there around that time.
Some families stayed on others moved on after the mining ceased around 1890's

Seems odd no real referance for either of them in NSW
