so strange i've just started doing this today on roots and i'm a luke, though i dont think i'm related, my great grand dad was from england, though we're up in scotland, funny world, as iits quite a strange surname

Not too rare though , I have a William Luke born approx 1857 in England marrying into one of my main lines .... He married Janet Dewar and they had 9 children all born mainly in Lanarkshire area

A few in Denny, Stirlingshire too.

John Luke, a Paper Manufacturer lived at Headswood House in Denny, died 24th March 1898.

Hi, I am Henry Luke's Granddaughter, my great gran was Lillas Luke from maryhill. My granddad Henry died when my father was 11 years old. I dont know a great deal about the history on this side of my family. I know my grandad Henry had brothers Brian, Ian and Billy and a sister Nora, I dont know much more.
