Yes, this is confusing, but ...
On Robert death cert of 1897;
Mother maiden name, ...Margaret formerly Williams
and; rank or profession of Father, ...Miner
Edward may have formerly been a butcher.
Also on Robert's death entry this info was given by an informant, ..N Bauchap (?) Undertaker, Port Chalmers. (NZ).
This date was; 17 Dec 1897. Wife Emma, their son Thomas, his wife Phoebe and children Emma Gertrude, Frederick Thomas, and Charles Llewellyn arrived back in Australia same year, for the birth of Dorothy Winifred at Kew, Melbourne, sometime in 1897. (I don't have ship or sail date yet)
They were not present at Robert's death, and subsequent pauper's burial in a plot containing 5 family members of William Mugford Grant, who was the Congregational Minister at Port Chalmers.
So, ..Robert died alone without any family present and was buried in an unmarked grave along with 5 others and one other pauper.
I have no other info on Robert, excepting he became a bricklayer employing 3 men at Blakenhall, Wolverhampton 1849 - 1885.
