Catherine Collins b 1837 Whitechapel
« on: Thursday 19 July 12 14:17 BST (UK) »
Any information at all on Catherine, I am hoping she is in someone's tree.
I have the following information only on her, I would love to find her death...
She was married to Moses Judson 21 Oct 1856 at The Register Office Newark, Notts.
On the 1861 census she is with Moses and their son John in Cross Guns Yard Newark. Catherine is listed as born Whitechapel and being 22 years old.
In 1859 she was imprisoned for 21 days hard labour for assault
In 1860 again 21 days for assaulting her husband and Mother in Law.
1862 baby John dies.
On the 1871 census Moses is still in Cross Guns Yard , but living with my gt gt grandmother , she is down as wife although they did not marry until 1873, There are 4 children born to the couple at this time the eldest being 6 years old.
I cannot find Catherine. I have searched the 1871 census, for her under all sorts of names. Did she go to prison? I was wondering if Moses did not marry again until 1873 because he was then aware his first wife had died?
There is a death for a C J in Leicestershire but the wrong lady.
I posted a query about this on the Nottinghamshire board some time ago, I am hoping this board may bring me some results.

Hi. I can see two of Catherine Collins living in Whitechapel 1841 census. One was born in Ireland. The other born in Whitechapel. The reason I mention this
is because there is a Catherine born in Whitechapel but died in USA under the name of Sullivan BMD also.

Ok I have looked, and there are no definite details. The 1851 census has her as aged 8 and the 1841 has her as 3. Just a death date in the USA no other details and no marriage mentioned. So, as is often the case with the public trees, all a bit suspect. But thankyou for your help.
