Hello, Can anyone tell me if there is a way of finding details of a family business.

My Fathers brother. John Phillipson was in partnership with a Mr Proudfoot in Carlisle after WW2. I know it was running until his death in 1959.

His only daughter and wife passed on soon after as did my own parents so no one to enlighten me,

Okay Rosie  so ,no idea what his first name was ,I cant see a death in Carlisle for a male Proudfoot in 1959

at 79 Scotch Street Carlisle
admin,22nd of May  to Frederick John Proudfoot company director

Her father was John James Proudfoot and he was a grocer and fruit salesman,
does this ring any bells

Very interesting i think the original poster is my cousin.But it's information i would like to know as well. Thank you Radcliff for the information.
His wife was Louisa Kirkpatrick 1906 and his daughter was Audrey Phillipson 1927

She's in her 80's maybe had something more pressing or just simply forgot all about it.
