Hello
I had a look in that paper today Dont know what you were expecting as all it said was Essex roll of Honour
Sec-Lieut Reginald Cyrus Tokely of the Essex Regiment who died 23rd December age 20 was the only child of Mr and Mrs Cyrus Legg Tokely late of Bromley Kent now resident in Teignmouth Devon

Thats all there was and further people who had died
Sorry if it wasn't what you were hoping for
Ronnie :(

Ronnie and Trevor
Thank you so much for your help.
Basically Reginald was according to his medal card attach Lancs. When he was in the Essex  Reg he had mumps and was put in charge of an isolation party. We do not know if he went to France with the Essex or  the Lancs. The Essex regiment have no after the mumps and all the Lancs regiments we have contacted deny any knowledge of him.His death of wounds at Grove would put him in the vicinity of Spectrum trench about 2 months after this trench was captured. Will try the forum as suggested.
Thanks again
Jane

Reginald Tokely briefly attended my old school - Borden Grammar School, Sittingbourne - and I'm now preparing detailed biographies of all those old boys who are known to have lost their lives in the two world wars, with the eventual at of publishing a roll of honour. If you have any further information on Tokely, especially his military service, I'd be delighted to hear from you. Hope you an help!

sorry have found no further information not even in the war diaries in Kew.Looking at the date and other casualties it is possible to narrow down the actions but not prove anything.Still no sign of his service records.
Hope you have more luck.In the summer we intend to photograph Teignmouth war memorial as he is mentioned on it.
Regards
Jane
