COMPLETE : BAILEY of Middlewich - ancesters Canal Boatmen

Afternoon,

Is anyone researching the family of William Bailey of Middlewich?
William Bailey born approx 1862-5 in Middlewich, Cheshire married Mary Fradley born 1866 Stone, Staffs, on 1st February, 1890.  William's father is noted as Joseph Bailey, Boatman on the Wedding Cert' and Mary's father is noted as John Fradley, Boatman/Master.

I am trying to find the family of Joseph Bailey, Boatman but am having difficulty in finding him.

The only Joseph Bailey, Boatman, (born Kidsgrove) I have found is one living in Brookes Lane, Middlewich in 1861.  I cannot find the family in 1871 or later.

Also, although on the census William notes his place of birth as Middlewich, I cannot find his baptism on any of the local church Registers.

William and Mary had the following children:-  Joseph 1891, William 1892, Ann 1894, Nelly 1896, Thomas 1902... there were also five others, names I don't have and believe they died in infancy.

Any information will be very much appreciated.  (this message has also been posted in the Cheshire and Staffordshire sections)

There is a Joseph Bailey on the 1881 census born Middlewich 1820 age 61 with his wife Mary he is recorded as a Hostler "Horse Groom" living in Salford,Lancashire which may be who you are looking for.

I know I'm a bit late. I have Joseph Bailey his wife Mary Ann Broadhurst their daughter Ellen born  5 Jan 1858. She Married my Grandfather Henry Theobald, his first wife on 15 Oct 1876 at St. Michael and All Angels Middlewich. Both Joseph and My Grandfather were boatmen
