Interesting Stan!

So I wonder about the records made around 1890's - 1900's... I wonder if they were destroyed too....
1895 up until 1905 would suit me fine.

According to the site http://www.movinghere.org.uk/galleries/roots/intro/migration/parliament3.htm after 1869 all records five years old were destroyed, so I assume the last to be destroyed were those for 1905. You can see the 1905 Act from this link  http://www.movinghere.org.uk/search/catalogue.asp?RecordID=77093&ResourceTypeID=2&sequence=6

Hi Sandra,
Yes it seems a huge shame that the UK entries have been deleted... :-(

This info would have been really useful... to tie up dates and people that traveled together and even the names they traveled under etc.

Where does the Travi family/name originate from?

Carlo

Hi Carlo,
The first record l have is 1881 Francesco Travi b1855 Italy with wife Sarah and sons Francis 1877 and Charles 1879. l then found marriage of Francis (Anglicized)
Travi Wireman
to Sarah Barney 1882 father George Barney, Carpenter and Francis Travi Tailor. they go on to have another 6 children and l have found Births for all except for Francis 1877 My grandfather and Charles1879.
On census my grandfather always said he was born Clerkenwell same for Charles. l have tried for a few years now to find births (and the grandaughter of Charles has done the same) but nothing.
I can find no other marriage for Francesco and nothing under Barney but then again l have not been able to find anything for Sarah Barney even after 6 BCerts. so brick wall with her.

l am certain Francis 1877 and Charles are sons of  Francesco because the descendants especially the males can have nothing else but Italian Genes by their looks and colouring.
Francesco was the only Travi to come to UK and all Travi in UK are his descendants.
But he only ever puts Italy l have looked as Travi name in US and most of them come from N. Italy around Como area, l have tried to contact people in US but have had no luck.
so afraid l am at a dead end.
Thanks Sandra
