i,m still puzzled  as to how they can have a year date but no other detail to back it up it doesn,t make sense to me , unless i,m missing something here only if you find a death for a person you,ve also got date place and volume and page number  . it looks like you need to be a bit sceptical as to wether these other folk know what there doing as so many pull names and places or copy stuff without checking anything .

Yes I tend to agree w/you! There's some strange activity on ancestry co uk- we've found from bitter experience!!
But of course w/a mystery like Florence we latched on to that date because we've been searching for her for years- since the 70s or before even!

Hi there.
Have found out that Florence would have used either surname- Davis or Crawford. There is no info to show she re-married and acquired another surname.
I think she might have reverted to her maiden name Davis as the divorce was very unpleasant and she wasn't treated so kindly by her ex in-laws, she lost custody of her children too.
I would be very grateful if anyone has any advice or can point us in the right direction!

have found 3 death records for a florence davis
florence e davis sep 1948 age 44 islington vol5c p 719
florence davis mar 1950 age 41  birmingham  vol 9c  p455
florence m davis dec 1951  age 48 wandsworth vol 5d  p 736
there were a few more but the age at death was further adrift of birth year snd as most of these later records are usually quite good for birth and death years thought it best not to include them .
also tried florence crawford but couldn,t see anything helpful or worth posting as birth and death yrs to way off so a good thing hopefully
just had a look in passenger records but nothing stands out and the problem with those is that some don,t have any first name some just an initial and others have a full first name so didn,t bother looking in those with out any first name or initial especially as there,s approx 530 of them out of a total of 618 !
