Armagh militia
« on: Sunday 15 July 12 17:05 BST (UK) »

I have an ancestor named Robert Brennan and his marriage states that he was in the Armagh militia. Are there any records of them? Can I learn what he did in the militia, how long he was in and if,where and when he fought? Their daughter was born in 1873 in Co. Armagh.

I wonder why the only Robert Brennan I've been able to find on your links and elsewhere was in the Militia in 1797,way before mine was born? Am I looking in the wrong places? Your 2nd link is great bty it has a lot to sift through,ty.

Robert Brannen, minor, bachelor, private in Armagh Militia, of Armagh (father: Samuel Brannen, labourer) to Anne Fox, minor, spinster, of Armagh (father: John Fox, labourer) on Apr.1, 1855, in Church of St. Mark, Armagh. Both made their marks. This is mine
