Jan Gross, Lodz Poland info

I have been researching my family tree for several years now and have hit a bit of a roadblock with my wife's branch. Family is from Germany / Poland. Lodz, I believe. Her gr grandfather's name is Reinhold Gross. DOB is unknown, but he his death would be sometime between 1940 and 1945 since he was killed in the war in Russia. His parents were Jan Gross and Julia Patzer but I have no dates. My research has been hampered by my poor German/Polish language skills -- i.e. none at all. Any help would be appreciated -- links, etc.

looked for Gross in Lodz and around - no luck with given name,
otherwise comes quite a few
looked for Patzer - comes few

He was driver, and lived on streets: Urzędnicza and Nawrot.
