I'm afraid I am ignorant of William's death circumstances. I do know we're somehow related to the proprietors of Thompsons and Nubley Bros Transport Companies in Wollongong Australia  - but I'm new to this genealogy thing... I'm 69 and retired and my daughter has been asking about our family history. I've found old family photos (sadly with no names or dates) and filling in the family tree is like trying to do a jigsaw puzzle when you don't know what it's supposed to look like, and the pieces are scattered everywhere!
I really do appreciate the assistance you all are providing to a complete stranger. Take a bow all of you!

Hi,

Trove online newspaper resources have this, 12 July 1893~

William Kenning a widower and miner working at Mount Pleasant colliery, has committed suicide by hanging. He placed a rope around his neck stood on a chair, tied the rope to a rafter and then kicked the chair away. Kenning was blind having lost his sight through an accident in a colliery. He leaves seven children totally unprovided for.

 Married in Morpeth !

Morpeth was the name of a Registration ( births, marriages and deaths) District which covered a wide area  beyond the town of Morpeth, which included communities at North Seaton, Ashington, Newbiggin, Bedlington, etc. I guess the marriage of George and Mary might have been in Ashington/North Seaton area, rather than in the town of Morpeth.

The Registration District for the communities of Bebside Colliery and Bebside Furnace, Horton, Cramlington etc was Tynemouth RD.

(Trivia Angle- I was born in Bebside Colliery- about 60 yrs after Sarah.  The colliery village was demolished
c.1953- pit was closed down. Even as late as 1950s, the houses had no electricity or water supply, and only outside earth closets.  But sad to say Paradise Row, at Bebside Furnace, about a mile away, was certainly no paradise. )

Thanks everyone.
I have Geo Wm Barras Kenning mar 1873 to Mary Thompson whose mother was Sarah - but no father's name or maiden name for Sarah (yet!)
And I have John Kenning/Kinning (father Abraham Kinning and mother Elizabeth -no maiden name but both b around 1791) mar Margaret Barras 1843, whose father was Robt Barrass but nothing abt her mother, and no dates.
Can I impose on someone to help me further if possible please? (I don't know what the 'currency' used for bribes over your way (dolly mixtures?) but here the promise of chocolate fish opens many doors!) :)

I did try Kendal mint cake once in North Shields,
