Agh, well of course at Albury the residents would be law abiding, that would be why the gaol was placed there, afterall any escapees would fall into the hands of the law abiding citizens and be returned PROMPT to the main gate without fear or favour

... Well, you see ..... At least that was the 'tale' given by my late great grandfather to my late grandfather as to why Bathurst Gaol was built, so I see am simply expanding the 'concept' to all NSW Gaol locations. Today's Grafton citizens could have done with retelling my tale .....

On the other hand, Darlinghurst Gaol was built c1841 ....
So Power gets £20 and William Kaye is discharged from Albury Gaol August 1887 and Thomas Gorman was at Goulburn Gaol after having a capital sentence commuted to 21 years HL on the roads for attempting to take the life of Constable Power.
