Thanks so much Margaret,Debra and Gerry ,this has been greatly appreciated, the resemblance is uncanny to say the least, just to think if one of the hatfields had shot my grandfather in a mortal way,I for one wouldn't be  here.My aunty (who passed away some years ago)was doing the family history and she allowed me to photocopy all of which she had,I have a copy of Thomas Power's marriage and  a letter from the 1970's from N.S.W. police giving all information about my grandfather that was on file with them.He died on the 25th March 1884.
I have noticed in one particular case from the QLD police in honouring a murdered Police Officer (Beresford) by Aborigines pronouncing my grandfather's name(in the story) as Powell instead of Power, this frustrates anyone doing research for a particular person as it throws them off the trail, they for one should get it right.

Again thank you all for your help.
Peter
